Yarova Inc. ("Yarova", "we", "us") is a company registered in British Columbia, Canada. BC Registry #: BC1515074. We follow PIPEDA — Canada's federal privacy law (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).
1. What we collect
- Contact details — name, email, phone, province. Collected when you book a call or email us.
- GitHub username — collected when you join Signal, to attach your commits to your account.
- Work-authorization status — collected on the fit call, to confirm Canadian eligibility.
- Payment records — handled by Stripe. We never store full card numbers.
- Site analytics — anonymous page views. No third-party advertising trackers.
2. Why we collect it
- To run your Signal practicum and review your work.
- To answer background-check calls as your verified reference.
- To process month-to-month payment.
- To respond to enterprise Axiom licensing enquiries.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
3. Background-check disclosure
When you complete Signal, you may list Yarova Inc. as a reference. When a background-check firm (Sterling, HireRight, Certn) contacts us, we confirm only:
- That you participated in the Signal practicum.
- Your title on file: Independent Technical Fellow (Uncompensated) — Yarova Inc.
- The dates of your participation.
We disclose this only with your prior consent given when you list us as a reference.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with processors required to run the service:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- GitHub — code hosting and commit history.
- Cal.com — call scheduling.
Each processor holds your data under its own privacy terms. We share nothing beyond what the service needs.
5. Your rights under PIPEDA
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold on you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion, except records we must keep for legal or reference purposes.
- Withdraw consent for reference disclosure at any time.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
Active Signal participants: data held for the duration of your practicum. After you leave: reference records kept for 7 years, so we can answer future background checks. All other data: deleted within 12 months of your last contact, on request.
